Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant <p><strong>*Position Summary:</strong></p> <p>The Cardiothoracic Physician&#39;s Assistant will partner with the Cardiothoracic Surgeons to provide comprehensive care during all aspects of cardiac surgery. Duties will include ordering diagnostic testing and treatments, assisting in the OR under the supervision of our two Cardiothoracic Surgeons, and performing hospital rounds and discharges. This position also acts as a patient advocate, providing education, coordination of care and serving as the liaison between the patient and physicians during the course of hospitalization.</p> <p><strong>Essential Functions:</strong></p> <p>1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Provide primarily surgical assistance. Takes histories, orders appropriate diagnostic tests, provides treatment to minor/routine problems, and give appropriate counseling to patients. Refers to physician as needed.
